Call for Papers: Science and philosophy in the genesis of Nazism
8 July 2025 will be the centenary of the publication of Adolf Hitler’s book Mein Kampf. The first volume, Mein Kampf. Eine Abrechnung (“My struggle. A reckoning”), was published on that day. It was a biographical and ideological introduction to the second, more pragmatic volume, published on 11 September 1926: Die nationalsozialistische Bewegung (“The National Socialist Movement”). Before the end of World War II, the book had become a bestseller, with more than ten million copies in print. It laid out in plain language the theoretical knots of the National Socialist world view, from the concept of living space to anti-Semitism and eugenics.
In this context, Metode SSJ will publish a monograph on the philosophical roots of National Socialism. Original contributions that analyse these roots against the background of the development of the natural sciences and the understanding of scientific methodology in general are particularly welcome, both in the period of the Nazi regime and with regard to the National Socialist world view in a broader sense, taking into account the currents of thought of the 18th and 19th centuries. The conceptual aims of the monograph include topics such as the alleged scientific basis of Aryan supremacy, eugenics and Nazi biopolitics. Deadline for submission: 12 February 2024.
Call for Papers: Digital humanities
New technologies have provided the humanities with new ways of visualising, connecting and interpreting data, giving rise to a discipline now known as the digital humanities. This monograph is open to a wide range of contributions that seek to explain how these new research strategies in the humanities contribute to the preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage in new formats, but also to the generation of new knowledge. Deadline for submission: 3 November 2023.

Call for Papers: Chemistry: fundamental knowledge
Chemistry is, without any doubt, one of the main experimental sciences. Today, the growing energy crisis, climate change, the loss of biodiversity, and the risk of new difficult-to-contain epidemics are making the future increasingly uncertain. In this new context, chemistry once again plays an fundamental role as part of the production and application of new knowledge. Special monograph on chemistry. Deadline for submission: extended until 25 September 2023.
