Full Professor of Spanish at the University of Almería (Spain). He has led several research projects on health and discourse. Rare diseases have been his main object of analysis. He was the director of the Spanish Observatory for Rare Diseases (OBSER) and received several awards for his research work on the field of health communication (Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases - FEDER, Federation of Associations of People with Disabilities of Almería - FAAM, Association of Families and People Affected by Lipodystrophy - AELIP, Association of Rare Diseases D’Genes, Association of People with Disabilities El Saliente). He has directed various conferences on rare diseases and is the author of over fifty lectures, as well as more than one hundred and fifty scientific publications on discourse analysis.
