The Paradigmatic Dialogue in Social Education: Simulation between Teaching and Learning in the University Classrooms

Abstract

The paper presents a simulation exercise in the classroom, realized -in the last years- with students who have studied the subject of 'Social Pedagogy' in the Diploma in Social Education and the Bachelor of Education (now Degrees) in the Faculty of Sciences of Education of the University of Santiago de Compostela.

With an innovative teaching approach, in which students acquire a direct role in the teaching-learning process is proposed, projecting their methodological approaches in a 'paradigmatic dialog' that takes as reference three theoretical rationality models (theories) usually refer to the Education-Social Education: technological, interpretative and socio-critical.

Generating a dynamic that involves all students, through a collective role play, theories and those who 'represent' undertake their looks with people and realities -in this case, poverty in its macro and micro social dimensions- in a participative and reflexive way, with levels of implication (from the reading up to the group discussion) and development of very valuable knowledge.
