Active Learning Strategies in the Subject: "Environmental Economics"


Abstract


The aim of this paper is to present and analyze the implementation process of active learning methodologies, in the subject Environmental Economics, to achieve greater student’s involvement in their learning process. In this regard, it has reduced the time spent on the transmission of knowledge through traditional lectures, to apply active methodologies, with the aim to improve student’s motivation, to increase their knowledge and to acquire some skills that previously don’t had been taken into account. Data from the subject assessment survey, by the students, reflecting the good acceptance of the practices system, that make up the continuous evaluation, of the use of Moodle as a virtual environment for training and, especially, the use of documentary as a tool to acquire new knowledge and to promote reflection and debate.
