Resumen
La entrada de las poblaciones humanas en el Antropoceno exige preguntarse qué significa la seguridad planetaria. En la intersección teórica de los estudios de Gaia, del Antropoceno y de Defensa Planetaria, proponemos un nuevo concepto de seguridad planetaria denominado Defensa Planetaria Integral, que comprende las amenazas ecológicas y las amenazas cósmicas desde un enfoque filosófico, jurídico y político coherente. Para ello, se argumenta la necesidad de superar, por un lado, el antropocentrismo de las estrategias de “seguridad humana”, y, por otro, el reduccionismo epistemológico de la defensa planetaria tradicional. Para ello se presenta, primero, el Antropoceno como un horizonte de pertenencia inédito, se analizan las principales amenazas ecológicas y cósmicas que afectan a la integridad de la biosfera, y, por último, se identifican los actores, los instrumentos y los antecedentes que pueden servir a los objetivos de la Defensa Planetaria Integral. De este modo, se inaugura un diálogo entre la filosofía, la ecología, la astrofísica y las ciencias jurídicas para la exploración de una nueva noción estratégica de seguridad planetaria.
