Technological Resources and Non-Presential Activities for an Improvement in the Learning Process of the Subject 'Actuarial Statistics'

Abstract


The aim of this paper is to describe the design and results obtained with the innovative pedagogical strategy followed in the courses of Actuarial Statistics in the Degree of Actuarial Science at the University of Málaga. By means of an intensive use of out-of-the-classroom activities and mobile learning technological elements, our objective is to enhance autonomous, collaborative and in-context learning. The varied group of activities include activities for assimilating and identifying professional competences, an online laboratory of survival models, based on an interactive graphic simulator and a micro site for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch devices.
